About the Statewide Landcover and Trees Study (SLATS)
The Statewide Landcover and Trees Study (SLATS) monitors Queensland's forests and woodlands to assess vegetation extent and levels of tree clearing and regrowth.
SLATS methodology
The Statewide Landcover and Treecover Study (SLATS) uses an enhanced methodology to monitor and report change in woody vegetation extent against a 2018 woody vegetation extent baseline. The higher resolution Sentinel-2 satellite technology provides more accurate estimates of woody vegetation extent, density and age.
SLATS reports
SLATS reporting monitors woody vegetation extent in Queensland and reports on changes each year against the 2018 woody vegetation extent baseline.
