Dugald River project

The EIS process for this project has now concluded.

Project summary

The proponent for the Dugald River project is the Minerals and Metals Group Pty Ltd (MMG). The project was previously owned by OZ Minerals Australia Limited. MMG proposed to develop a zinc, lead and silver metals mine located approximately 85km north-east of Mt Isa and 60km north-west of Cloncurry, in north-western Queensland. On 11 March 2008 Zinifex Australia Limited applied to prepare a voluntary environmental impact statement (EIS) for the project under section 70 of the Environmental Protection Act 1994 (EP Act). This application was approved by the department who managed the EIS of the project under Chapter 3 of the EP Act.

The EIS assessment report was issued to the proponent on 15 November 2011 and the EIS process has been completed.
