Private protected areas

Provides information on the department's Private Protected Area Program.

NatureAssist provides eligible landholders with access to grants to protect and enhance the significant conservation and cultural values of their land.

The Nature Refuge Landholder Grant (NRLG) provides financial assistance to existing nature refuge landholders who hold a nature refuge agreement with the Queensland Government.

Special wildlife reserves are a new class of protected area under the Nature Conservation Act 1992 that protect privately managed land of exceptional natural and cultural significance.
