Assessing threatened species

Species at risk of extinction can be listed as a threatened species under the Nature Conservation Act 1992. They are then assigned to different wildlife classes depending on the degree of risk of their extinction.

The Threatened Species Listing Report is an up-to-date list of all threatened species in Queensland.

Members of the public, scientists and organisations can submit a nomination to change the conservation status of a species.

Queensland’s Species Technical Committee assesses listing nominations to determine a species’ conservation status.
