About the week

During Foster and Kinship Carer Week we say thank you to more than 6,300 foster and kinship carer families in Queensland for their dedication and commitment.

We thank them for opening their hearts and homes to children and young people in need.

The week is an opportunity for everyone to acknowledge the valuable role carers in our communities.

In 2025, Foster and Kinship Carer Week ran from 3–10 May.
