Specialist aids and equipment resources may be included in your National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Plan, to help you achieve your goals.

Medical Aids Subsidy Scheme

Subsidy funding for medical aids and equipment is available to eligible Queenslanders with permanent/stable conditions or disabilities. Aids and equipment are subsidy funded either on a permanent loan basis, private ownership or through the supply of consumables.

Children with a disability

Children and students with a disability, may require specialist assistance and support related to their unique and changing needs.

Queensland schools

Within the state education system, students requiring additional support can access a range of student services with meeting their educational needs.

Information is available about who you can contact for expert help with choosing assistive technology solutions that are appropriate for you or a person you care for.

Mobile device accessibility

The Global Accessibility Reporting Initiative (GARI) allows people to search a range of mobile devices, based on the physical and accessibility features of the device, which assists people with:

  • mobility/dexterity impairment
  • vision impairment
  • hearing or speech impairment
  • cognition impairment.

You can access the database to search for mobile devices online, such as phones, tablets, wearables and more.
