Newborn drop-in services
Parents of newborns have access to drop-in services in Queensland.
Each centre provides different services, but all will generally provide free parenting and infant development information, feeding help and support.

Child health clinics
Child health services provide parenting information and support for families in Queensland.
These free services may include nutrition, child growth and development assessments. You may need to book an appointment for this service—please see the information provided by the individual clinic.

Make a list of any questions or concerns you have before your visit and bring along your child’s Personal Health Record book (the red book if your baby was born in Queensland), to record the assessment.
If your child is old enough, consider explaining to them where you are going and why, to ease any anxiety they may have about visiting a clinic.
Other help
Your GP can provide health care and support for you and your children. They can also provide referrals to more specialised health care if required.
