Leukaemia

Leukaemia (or leukemia) is a type of cancer that affects the bone marrow, which is the soft, spongy centre of the bone that produces blood cells. Leukaemia causes large numbers of white blood cells to be made. Both adults and children can develop leukaemia. There are different types of leukaemia. Chemotherapy is the main treatment.
