About this privacy notice
This privacy notice describes how your personal information is collected and handled by the Service portal in accordance with its legal obligations, including those under the Information Privacy Act 2009.
About the Service portal
The Service portal, hosted by the Queensland Government through the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Family and Small Business (we, us, our), enables you to access and track your Queensland Government digital services.
The Service portal includes:
- the customer services platform—a whole-of-government platform able to be used by Queensland Government agencies to deliver digital services to you
- Service portal (the portal)—a whole-of-government portal providing you a single secure place to access, view and manage your digital interactions with the Queensland Government.
Collecting your personal information
We collect your information for the purpose of setting up an account profile, receiving notifications and assisting or facilitating the completion of service forms (including draft forms) for submission via the Service portal.
Should you not wish to provide your personal information for the purposes described you may not be able to access the portal to complete the requested services. Please contact us to determine alternative options for responding to your service request.
Important information for setting up your account and prefilled details
When you start an agency’s digital service form, an account will automatically be created for you in the the Service portal and will be populated with your email address from your digital identity.
As you complete an agency’s digital service form, you may be required to enter your personal details (e.g. title, preferred name, contact email, mobile number, home address and postal address). You can then choose to save your personal details in your Service portal account to save time when next you access a Service portal digital service/form.
Authenticating your identity
When accessing the the Service portal or using an agency digital service through the Service portal, you will need to log in with your digital identity through the Queensland Government Digital ID Exchange using an available identity provider which is independent to the the Service portal.

Use and disclosure of your information
We will use and disclose your personal information in line with the purpose described. After you have completed the submission of an agency the Service portal digital service, the agency will retrieve and process your submission as per their processes and timeframes.
We will not otherwise disclose this information to a third party without your agreement, except in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 and other relevant privacy laws.
Securing your information
Your data will be stored in the Service portal's cloud-based storage. It will be encrypted both in transit and when stored in the the Service portal's cloud-based storage. Encryption is designed to make data unreadable, and to make it readable again only with the correct encryption key.
Accessing, updating, and correcting your information
If you want to update or delete your personal details (such as title, preferred name, mobile number, home address or postal address, or contact email address) from the Service portal, you can do this via the portal.
To make any changes to your identity details (such as official name, date of birth, or primary email address) you will need to do that with the agency managing it. Refer to the Queensland Government Digital ID Exchange to find out how.
