Who needs a permit
All persons 18 years and over must hold a permit when line fishing in SIPS impoundments.
Children and teenagers under 18 years do not require a permit.

- Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card
- Repatriation Health Care Card (Gold Card).

Receiving your permit
The permit is:
- emailed and/or texted to your phone when purchased: - online
- at selected sub-agent outlets
- over the phone.
 
- emailed within 24 hours when purchased: - over the counter at an Australia Post outlet.
 
When you go fishing
When fishing in a stocked impoundment, you must:
- carry your permit (digital email, digital SMS, paper receipt) with you
- produce it upon request from the Queensland Boating and Fisheries Patrol.
