Thankful 4 Farmers and Saveful

The Queensland Government has partnered with Thankful 4 Farmers to support the development of Saveful – an innovative new app that will help Queensland households save food, money and time in their kitchens.

The free app offers chef-tested recipes including pro tips and hacks encouraging users to get creative with how they use the ingredients already in their fridge.

The app also empowers users to track their impact by quantifying how much food waste and money they have saved by using what they already have on hand in their kitchen.

Through the partnership with Thankful 4 Farmers, the Queensland Government has also provided funding for a 10-week trial on the Sunshine Coast to redirect food that is not-fit-for-human-consumption from supermarkets back to farm in the form of animal feed and nutrient-rich soil food.

This initiative is supported by the Queensland Government’s Recycling and Jobs fund.
