Important information for Home Raising program

In May 2024, a regulation amendment was passed to increase the Home Raising program funding threshold from $100,000 to $150,000.

This was in response to concerns from homeowners that market conditions, cost of living pressures and ongoing recovery from flood damage was making it challenging to raise their homes, even with the grant funding available.

That's why we increased funding for eligible works from $100,000 to $150,000. This meant eligible homeowners had access to an additional government funding before they needed to contribute.

This has enabled more homeowners to raise their homes and protect more homes from future flooding events.

If you've commenced or completed resilience works, this additional funding can be reimbursed once your application is approved by QRIDA.

What this meant

If you were eligible for the Home Raising program, (including demolish and rebuild or relocate), you could apply for funding of up to $150,000 for eligible works.

This funding was to raise your home above the 2021–2022 flood event level and the assessed flood level.

This included homeowners assessed under the recently expanded home raise eligibility criteria through a 1-on-1appointment and who received their eligibility letter from us.
