Introduction agreement

By law, you must have a signed introduction agreement with a client before you provide any service to them.

The agreement must include details about the:

  • cooling off period
  • cancellation terms
  • full details of the services you will offer
  • payment details.

The agreement can be cancelled, if:

  • you do not give the client a pre-contractual disclosure statement and introduction agreement—you will have to give them a full refund
  • the client does not follow the payment restrictions under the Introduction Agents Act
  • the client wants to cancel the agreement.

You face penalties if you break the law.
