Teacher registration and standards

The Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) regulates Queensland's teaching industry to ensure teachers:

  • are registered
  • have appropriate qualifications
  • are suitable to teach
  • have current skills and practices.

You must be registered with the QCT to legally teach at a Queensland school. The QCT website lets you manage all your teaching registration needs.

Replacement certificates

Submit the replacement certificate form (PDF, 73KB) to request a replacement of your registration or permission to teach certificate.

You will be charged a fee of $42.88.

You can make a complaint about the QCT or the professional conduct of teachers.

Scholarships and grants

Scholarships and grants are available to help aspiring teachers with their studies. Some provide help for graduates, some focus on supporting teachers working in particular subject areas, or in rural and remote areas
