What you should know
The Attorney-General assesses and decides whether to approve applications for funding for legal representation, when you have been given a notice to attend a Crime and Corruption Commission hearing. There is no guarantee that a decision about the funding will be made before your hearing date.
If your application is approved, the CCC will reimburse your legal costs up to an amount in accordance with the Legal Aid Queensland clause codes CMC1 and CMC2.
Who can use this service
You can apply for funding to attend a Crime and Corruption Commission hearing if you:
- you are requested to appear at a Crime and Corruption Commission hearing
- you will suffer substantial financial hardship to pay for your legal representation.
How to apply for funding to attend a Crime and Corruption Commission hearing
Choose how to apply and follow the steps.
Step 1: Complete the form
Print the application form and complete it by hand.
Step 2: Sign and witness statutory declaration
Have your solicitor, a Justice of the Peace or Commissioner for Declaration witness your signature.
Step 3: Gather your documents
You must provide copies of:
- your Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care card or 3 recent payslips
- your most recent bank statement (or statements if you have more than one account)
- the bank statements or payslips of any partner or family member who shares living expenses with you
- a copy of your CCC investigation attendance notice.
Step 4: Submit your application
You or your solicitor can email the completed application form and documents to:
legal.services@justice.qld.gov.au.
Step 5: Receive the outcome
You will get confirmation your application has been received.

How long it takes
Processing time begins when a complete application form and documents are received. The Department of Justice will notify your solicitor and the CCC of the decision in writing once it is made.
