What you should know
Pay your SPER debt by setting up a payment plan online. This is the quickest way to stop or prevent enforcement action.
You may be able to pay your payment plan using your Services Australia payments. Some Services Australia payments are not eligible, including:
- ABSTUDY, excluding basic living allowance
- Carer allowance
- Disaster recovery allowance
- Mobility allowance.
Who can use this service
You can pay a SPER debt by payment plan if you:
- received a SPER enforcement notice
- are another person authorised to act on behalf of the order holder
- accept and comply with SPER Online's terms and conditions.
Don't use this service if:
- you want to pay your debt in full.

How to pay a SPER debt by payment plan
Choose how to pay and follow the steps.
Step 1: Gather your documents
Gather your SPER enforcement order and your client number or party ID. This number is on the enforcement order.
Step 2: Log into SPER Online
You’ll be taken to another website.
Step 3: Set up a payment plan
Set up a payment plan to pay by instalments.
Pay by debit or credit card:
- Mastercard
- Visa.

Step 4: Receive the outcome
You will get confirmation payment has been received.

Step 3: Set up a payment plan

How long it takes
Processing time begins when a payment plan is set up.
An enforcement action stops once payment is received.
How much it costs
There is no cost to set up a payment plan. If you miss a payment, your plan may be cancelled. You may be open to enforcement action and there may be associated fees.
