Rules if you don't collect your goods

Don’t forget to collect any goods you may have given to a business. This includes goods given for:

  • repair
  • inspection
  • storage
  • any other reason.

Businesses must hold onto your goods for 6 months after the collection date. Contact the business immediately if you get a letter about uncollected goods. Arrange to collect and pay for your goods as soon as possible.

After 6 months, the business can legally sell your goods to recover their costs.
