Funeral directors

Part of the Service providers topic

Funeral directors can learn how to submit official death registrations and disposal notices online. Authorised government undertakers can submit conveyancing, burial and cremation claims online.

In short

Funeral directors can apply to use the Service Provider Portal. You can choose more than one role. This lets you submit:

  • death registrations
  • disposal notices
  • submit conveyancing, burial and cremation claims.

What you can do online

Approved service providers can:

    • order official death certificates and choose postal options
    • print a registration report for the next of kin to check the details
  • submit burial or cremation notifications (if applicable)
  • submit Coroners of Court of Queensland (CCQ) conveyancing, burial and cremation claims

How to fix a mistake

If you found a mistake you can request a review of a submitted death record if:

  • you have submitted a death registration or disposal notice and
  • the record has been accepted by us.

If the mistake is on a death registration you submitted and it has not been marked as 'accepted', you can:

  • recall and change the record
  • resubmit the record to us.
