What you should know

People who have been arrested and sentenced in Queensland may be held in a Queensland watch house or prison.

If charged, they may remain in a watch house for several days before being transferred.

To request a prisoner's identification number (IOMS), email StatewideOperationsCommunications@corrections.qld.gov.au

You can find a prisoner if they have been:

  • arrested
  • sentenced

How to find a prisoner

Choose whether you want to find someone in a watch house or a prison and follow the steps.

Step 1: Call Queensland Police

Contact your local police station, or 24-hour police station.

Step 2: Provide person information

You will need the person’s full name and any other identifying details.
