JP and Cdec handbook
The Duties of Justices of the Peace (Qualified) and Commissioners for Declarations handbook is a comprehensive handbook for both JPs and Cdecs.
It outlines expectations of JPs and Cdecs and is a reference that provides guidance on performing duties correctly and consistently.
The Justices of the Peace Unit will contact you when updates to the JP and Cdec handbook are made. If your contact details change, please make sure to update your JP or Cdec contact details.

JP and Cdec logbook
The logbook helps JPs and Cdecs keep accurate records of their witnessing activities. It includes:
- a template for recording witnessing activities.
- general witnessing steps.
- a list of oaths and affirmations.

Record of Titles Registry forms
JPs and Cdecs must keep a record of Titles Registry forms they have witnessed. This is a mandatory requirement of the Land Titles Act 1994.
The Justices of the Peace Unit has developed forms templates to help JPs and Cdec record the correct information for each Titles Registry form.
